I don’t remember eating chili much as a kid, so as an adult I found myself thinking that I didn’t like it. Therefore, I would never make it or even order it at a restaurant. Then, several years ago our church held a chili cook-off, in which I was obliged to participate with my small group. I provided a dessert, not chili that year. I went around tasting all the variations of chili other people had made, and I realized that I actually liked quite a few of them, especially the ones that weren’t overly spicy.
